Jeanine E's Thin Place :
The Beechwood
When I’m under the tree I get this
feeling of being protected
When we first looked at our house, it was everything we told our realtor we didn’t want.
But we were drawn to the house and property partly because of the giant beech tree dating from the early 1800’s.
When I’m under the tree I get this feeling of being protected and a connection with the spiritual. And I think other people feel this, too.
One installation grew out of the idea of “home.” There were these little clay houses made by the community including those in homeless shelters that were placed in the tree.
After only two months in and around the tree, two of the houses could not be removed.
Many artists have created installations in and around the tree.
It’s like they were claimed by the tree.
