MB's Thin Place : Backyard Perch
It doesn’t take a whole lot of
distance to change your perspective.
I don’t know what prompted me, but one day I just looked up at this tree and I just thought I needed an escape. A cheap escape so I didn’t have to get on a plane and go somewhere. But it doesn’t take much.
It doesn’t take a whole lot of distance to change your perspective.
There’s something about being above the ground. It’s the same ground I look at every day.
The other thing is being a little closer to this canopy of leaves you feel kind of part of the family of wildlife that lives in trees. I’m not religious per se, but there’s some kind of magic in being suspended halfway between the earth and other places.
You’re just pulling the plug on the rest of the world and literally being closer to nature because the branches are reaching your head. I don’t know what it is. There’s that unknown aspect of hovering above the planet a little bit.
